LAKE LUCY LUXE
LAKE LUCY LUXE
This client had a clear vision when she came to Revival House looking for a new kitchen design. She loved her home, especially the oversized, existing maple millwork, but was dissatisfied with the small floor plan and lack of storage in the kitchen. In addition to functional needs, this client was looking for a showstopping design that would add wow factor to her home!
Functional storage was a key factor for the cabinetry design and layout. The client wanted everything to have a place within the kitchen, so our designer focused on creating storage zoning areas: prepping, cooking, cleaning, baking, breakfast, beverage/entertaining, and pantry storage.
Each of these areas features storage elements that are specific to their respective zone. Highlights of the cabinetry design include: wall and base cabinets dedicated to a child accessible breakfast zone, pull-outs that house knives, cutting boards, spices, oils, and utensils, as well as a waste receptacle cabinet and an additional tray divider cabinet for cutting boards, pizza pans and cookie sheets. All of which help support the baking and cooking zone. This kitchen design also features a built-in beverage refrigerator and coffee maker as well as a special base cabinet created to individually store bottles of wine.
We were also able to bring the client’s cabinetry up to the ceiling, which maximizes storage potential and gives the illusion of a bigger floorplan.
To give this kitchen the “wow factor” that the client was looking for, designer Jami paired a stunning black and gold hood with a patterned backsplash tile. The lighting and counters were all chosen to compliment that design feature and really let the hood elevation steal the show. The white and black colors chosen for the cabinets highlight the existing millwork that the homeowner loved, while modernizing the kitchen with current design styles.
The end result is a stunning kitchen worthy of a magazine with a design perfectly tailored to this unique home!
