when is the right time to start your project?
Determining the right time to start your project is the first decision (of many) you'll have to make. The two main factors that go into this decision are typically time and finances. The timeline and cost of your remodel or new build will depend on many factors, but you will save both by working with a professional.
Your project's timeline will depend on the scope of the project, size of the space, and several other factors, but here are some very general estimates:
- New build projects: more than one year.
- Entire kitchen or bath remodel process: more than 6 months.
- Kitchen or bath remodel construction phase: approximately 4-8 weeks.
Again, there are a lot of factors that contribute to a project's timeline, and these are very general estimates.
The budget calculators below, created by the National Kitchen & Bath Association, will give you a general idea of how much your project will cost.
what is the first step?
Once you decide it's time to go ahead with your project, it's time to set up an appointment with a kitchen & bath designer. Including us in your project from day one will help ensure that your cabinetry arrives on time and your project is completed in a timely and efficient manner.
To make the most of your initial consultation with a kitchen & bath designer, it's a good idea to take some time to think about what you want. Starting a Pinterest board is a great way to communicate with your designer the style you're going for and any specific appliances, storage accessories, or materials you'd like to use. You can check out Studio M Kitchen & Bath's Pinterest for inspiration or head over to our Partners page to learn more about the brands we typically work with.
Meet with a designer at our showroom for a complimentary, one-hour consultation.
If everyone feels comfortable and wants to move forward, we will ask for a retainer and begin the custom design process.
Your designer will take measurements on site and create a beautiful and highly functional cabinetry design for your space.
Meet with your designer again to see what they've come up with for your space! Once the design has been approved, a 50% deposit on your cabinetry order will be collected.
Your designer will verify measurements, order your cabinetry, and schedule delivery and installation.
