Thoughtful design transformed this once dark and dysfunctional space into a brightly updated, farmhouse-inspired kitchen.

These homeowners had a clear vision of the look they desired when they came to us for a kitchen renovation. They loved the popular farmhouse style, which features comfortable, rustic elements that give warmth to the space, tastefully combined with more modern elements needed to support today’s families. To achieve their functional needs, kitchen and bath designer Danee Bohn, CMKBD reconfigured the layout of the kitchen into an efficient work triangle that allows the family to prepare meals, cook, and clean up with ease. Additional pantry storage was gained by relocating the refrigerator.

By repurposing a former home office space, Danee gave the clients a cozy, new breakfast nook. This nook is not only a great place for the family to sit down and share a meal, but it also provides four spacious storage drawers under the bench.

The new kitchen also features a center island with seating, a walk-up bar area with a built-in beverage refrigerator, as well as innovative storage solutions such as a pull-out towel bar, microwave drawer, spice drawer, and tray storage.

To fulfill the client’s design wishes, Danee combined Linen and Dorian Grey finishes on White Oak glass-front cabinetry to achieve a look that is both rustic and modern. The blend of farmhouse influence and the client’s unique style created a space that is both on trend and timeless.
